Women's Services
Women's Health Care for Every Age
At Valley Presbyterian Hospital, we are here to meet women’s health care needs for every stage of life from the birth of a baby through menopause and beyond. Our Women’s Services unit is run by staff who understand first-hand that women’s needs are complex and ever changing. With compassion and skill, specialized physicians, nurses, and educators offer preventative health screenings, free classes, maternity care, post-delivery neonatal services, medical diagnoses and treatments, and support for women’s sexual and reproductive health. These are some of the services that we provide:
Maternity Services
The Labor & Delivery unit at Valley Presbyterian Hospital is one of the busiest in the San Fernando Valley. Our highly trained staff is dedicated to providing you comfort, support and safety throughout your pregnancy, birth and early parenthood. During your pregnancy, we offer free classes to help you prepare for childbirth, learn how to breastfeed, and discover how to care for your newborn. For the next stage in your journey, our Labor and Delivery Room has special amenities to make you feel at home, with a family-centered environment where loved ones can be part of your birthing experience. A skilled nurse will work closely with you, your family and physician to ensure you have the best care possible. After your delivery, our Postpartum room provides a comfortable, quiet experience for you and your baby to bond. Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Most babies are born healthy but in the unlikely event that your baby needs extra medical attention after delivery, you can take comfort in knowing that our NICU provides the highest level of care available for newborns that are born ill or premature. Board-certified neonatal doctors, a round-the-clock team of nurses with specialized training, and therapists, dietitians and lactation consultants are ready to provide compassionate care. The NICU team at Valley Presbyterian is dedicated to providing a supportive environment not only for the critical care needs of your baby, but also one that encourages family involvement.
