Conditions
At the Center for Wound Healing at Valley Presbyterian Hospital, we believe limb preservation begins with early intervention and customized patient education.
There are a number of conditions that can put you at risk for amputation. The majority of threatened limbs we treat and save are the result of complications from diabetes. Other conditions that can contribute to a risk for amputation include traumatic injuries, tissue damage, infection, impaired circulation, and cancer.
As a specialty center for preventing limb amputation, the Center for Wound Healing specializes in treating certain conditions that increase the risk for amputation, with amputation prevention as the primary goal.
